Enhancing Packaging Integrity with Trials and Tests in the Packaging Automation Trial Facility

Investing in packaging automation is about more than just efficiency—it's crucial for ensuring product integrity. For one forward-thinking customer, the journey to upgrade their facility began with rigorous trials at the Packaging Automation Trial Facility. Their goal was to adopt two REV XL machines for large-scale operations, while maintaining high standards of seal integrity and peelability.

Seal Integrity and Peelability - Transitioning from vacuum-sealing pots to faster, energy-efficient electric tray sealers, the customer was concerned about maintaining seal strength and ease of peeling. To address this, we conducted comprehensive tests to validate the performance of our packaging solution.

Burst Tests and Peel Strength Analysis - We implemented a two-fold testing approach. Burst tests assessed the seal strength by subjecting sealed pots to varying pressure levels, simulating real-world conditions. The results confirmed that our solution offered robust seals, matching or surpassing the customer's current standards while reducing sealing times.

Peel strength analysis measured the force required to open sealed pots, ensuring the packaging was user-friendly. The results demonstrated consistent peelability, enhancing the consumer experience.

Real-World Simulation: Vacuum and Seal Trials - With positive lab results, we conducted real-world vacuum and seal trials using REV XL machines in our test kitchen. These trials confirmed that the seal integrity and peelability achieved in the lab translated seamlessly to practical applications.

Our rigorous testing proved that investing in fully electric tray sealers was not just an upgrade but a strategic decision. The customer can now confidently rely on enhanced packaging integrity, knowing their products are protected and their brand reputation strengthened
